Omololu Akin-Ojo is director of the Institute of Fundamental Research of Eastern Africa (ICTP-EAIFR), a research center attached to the University of Rwanda. Doctor in Physics from the University of Delaware, in the United States, has carried out two postdoctoral stays: one at the University of Boston and the other at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. Before this, he had obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in Physics at the University of Ibadan, in Nigeria. His lines of research have to do with the physics of condensed matter and its applications for the development and progress of the African continent. He has years of teaching and research experience, most recently as a professor at the University of Ibadan. He is an associate scientist at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).
